Bonsai trees, akin to every other living things, need food for existence. In contrast to the roots of normal trees that develop for long distances searching for nourishment, the roots of bonsai trees are constrained to develop within the container and hence they will be able to obtain simply whatever nutrition is obtainable in the soil within the pot. Hence, the soil inside the pot needs to be frequently replenished with the correct amount of nutrients.

Bonsai is truly not one kind of tree but, a method of rising lots of different kind of trees or plants. Bonsai can be explained by breaking the word into two parts: Bon ” meaning tray and Sai ” meaning tree. So, Bonsai trees are those trees or plants that are raised in trays or containers and grown in such a approach that they are smaller than their free raising corresponding items. These trees increase in magnificence and rate as they mature over the years.

It is kind of funny to me that when I mention the word bonsai to some people, the first thing they ask is if I mean the little tree that Mr. Miyagi had in the movie ‘Karate Kid.’ Yes indeed, Miyagi was fond of his bonsai tree, even teaching the art to Daniel-son. Well, I’m not here to talk about Karate Kid today, but rather what you should do if you are thinking about taking up a bonsai hobby.

I just have to laugh sometimes when I speak with people about bonsai and they immediately ask me if I’m referring to that mini tree that the guy trimmed in the old ‘Karate Kid’ movie. It is true, Mr. Miyagi maintained a nice little bonsai tree, and he even tried get Daniel to learn. Thankfully, Karate Kid is not what I’m writing about today, but I do want to shed some light on the hobby of bonsai.
